We were honored to welcome Mark Gerald Vasquez, a student from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Sta Mesa, Manila, to our Asin Tibuok manufacturing site as part of the requirements for his design proposal.
Mark’s study required him to gain firsthand knowledge of the traditional process of producing Asin Tibuok, an artisanal sea salt known for its unique heritage and cultural significance. By observing the step-by-step methods—from salt collection and filtration to the careful crafting and firing of the clay pots—he was able to deepen his understanding of both the science and tradition behind this centuries-old practice.

This visit not only supports Mark’s academic requirements for his design proposal but also reflects the growing recognition of Asin Tibuok as a valuable subject for scholarly and creative exploration. We are proud that our work continues to inspire students and researchers who seek to preserve and showcase the cultural and scientific importance of this heritage food product.
We wish Mark the best in his design proposal and future endeavors, and we are grateful that he chose our site as a resource for his academic journey. 🌿✨
A Step Towards Transformative Design
The visit to the Asin Tibuok site marked a significant milestone in the student's educational journey. It not only provided firsthand experience of the challenges and opportunities inherent in design but also reinforced the value of incorporating diverse perspectives into the creative process. As the student prepares to draft their proposal, the insights gained from this experience will undoubtedly contribute to a more thoughtful and innovative approach to design, echoing the Polytechnic University of the Philippines' commitment to fostering creative and effective solutions in architecture and beyond. In essence, this journey exemplifies the intersection of education and practical application, paving the way for future designers to make impactful contributions to their communities.
